Feeding Wild Birds

What's the difference between suet pellets, blocks and fat balls?
They're all high-energy suet-based foods, just in different formats to suit different feeders: pellets scatter easily on a bird table or through a seed feeder, blocks sit inside a cage feeder, and fat balls hang in a wire feeder or sit loose on a table. Pick whichever matches the feeder you've already got, or the one you're planning to buy.

Will sunflower hearts or peanuts attract more birds than a seed mix?
A mixed seed blend tends to bring in the widest range of species, while sunflower hearts are especially popular with goldfinches and other finches, and peanuts are a favourite with tits, greenfinches and nuthatches. Many customers offer more than one type of feed to cover a broader range of visitors.

How much should I feed, and how often?
It's best to offer little and often rather than filling every feeder to the brim — this keeps food fresh and reduces waste. Keep an eye on how quickly feeders empty and adjust from there; demand is usually highest in winter and during the breeding season in spring.

How should I store bird food?
Keep bags and tubs somewhere cool and dry, and reseal them tightly between uses. This keeps food fresher for longer and helps prevent pests.

Do you offer bulk pricing for larger gardens or community feeding schemes?
Yes — most of our ranges are available in larger bulk bags, which work out better value per kilo than our smaller sizes. Get in touch if you have a specific bulk requirement.

Payments & Your Account

How can I pay?
We accept all major credit and debit cards along with PayPal, through a secure checkout.

How secure is shopping with you?
Our site uses SSL encryption at checkout and runs on a PCI DSS-compliant e-commerce platform, so your payment details are handled securely throughout.

Can I get a VAT receipt?
Yes, a receipt is emailed automatically with every order. Most wild bird food is zero-rated for VAT as an animal feeding stuff; some smaller retail packs are standard-rated under HMRC rules — this is reflected automatically in the price shown at checkout.

How do I return an item?
See our Returns Policy for full details — the process differs slightly between food products and feeders/accessories.
